County Careline Suffolk is the only County wide telecare monitoring and response service in Suffolk.
Our Mission is:
To provide vulnerable people with a monitoring and emergency response service, available in their own homes, that will be delivered in a timely and professional way, to certified standards as required by key statutory and other agencies.
In addition, we seek to promote the use of Assistive Technology, primarily equipment that links to an alarm service, in order to keep people living safely at home.
Benefits to the community
The benefits to the community derived from our range of services cannot be over stated. At a time when government funding is being reduced, we have been able to expand provision. This has been possible due to the highly efficient nature of the service. Other than the obvious value for money, the direct benefits to the wider community include:
Peace of mind
Knowing that help can be had any time of the day or night by simply pressing a button provides peace of mind, not only for the vulnerable person, but also those who care about them.
Having fast reliable help to hand often helps to provide that little extra confidence a person may need to remain living in their own home and thus maintain their independence.
Reduced pressure on Public Services
Services that offer only ‘Monitoring’ rely on sending the emergency services such as Fire, Police or Ambulance. This is very often unnecessary when a trained emergency responder could deal with the situation in a much more appropriate way. More worryingly, unnecessary mobilization of emergency services can be upsetting for some vulnerable people and sometimes causes them not to ask for help.
